Warranty
10-Year Limited Warranty
At Wilderness RV Mattress, we believe that great sleep is one of the most valuable parts of your journey — whether you're parked at the edge of a mountain vista or spending the night at a quiet rest stop. That’s why we stand behind every mattress we build with a 10-year limited warranty, thoughtfully designed to provide peace of mind for the long haul. This warranty exists not only to protect your purchase against the unexpected, but to reinforce our belief in the longevity and craftsmanship of what we offer.
What Falls Within the Scope of Coverage
- Body Impressions & Sagging: Over time, all mattresses will naturally conform to the shape of your body — but this warranty covers impressions or sagging that exceed 1.5" in depth, as long as the mattress has been consistently supported by an appropriate base. Indentations that fall within normal expectations of wear are not considered defects.
- Manufacturing Defects: While we strive for precision and consistency in every stitch, this warranty protects against verifiable material flaws in the mattress cover — such as unraveling seams or faulty stitching — that occur despite normal and proper use by the original owner.
- Zipper Malfunctions: Zippers that fail during normal use, without signs of force or overextension, may be covered under this warranty. Issues resulting from accidental tugging, improper handling, or other mechanical stress are excluded.
Where the Warranty Does Not Apply
- Foam Softening: Over time, all foam-based products will experience gradual softening as part of their normal aging process. This natural change in material resilience is not considered a manufacturing defect and is therefore not covered by this warranty.
- Comfort Preferences: Comfort is deeply personal, and individual perceptions of softness or firmness may shift with time or use. This warranty does not extend to dissatisfaction related to feel, firmness level, or changes in preference after regular use begins.
- Moisture & Storage Damage: Exposure to water, high humidity, or unhygienic storage conditions can degrade mattress materials in ways that are outside our control. Similarly, the use of improper foundations or support structures may compromise mattress performance and void warranty coverage.
- Physical Damage: Damage caused by external forces — including but not limited to cuts, burns, tears, or abrasions — falls outside the scope of warranty protection, as these forms of harm do not result from a fault in the mattress itself.
- Unauthorized Cleaning: Use of aggressive cleaning methods or unapproved chemical agents can irreparably harm the mattress structure. This includes dry cleaning or solvent-based products, which void this warranty due to their potential to deteriorate core materials.
- Neglect or Misuse: Any signs of excessive wear, improper handling, or general neglect — such as failure to use a mattress protector or exposure to unsanitary conditions — may render this warranty void, as these factors compromise product integrity beyond normal expectations.
- Shipping Costs: All shipping fees incurred during the return or replacement process, including transportation to and from our facility, are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
How to Begin a Warranty Inquiry
- Submit by Email: To initiate a claim, simply reach out to us at returns@w-rv.com. Please include your original order number, a brief but clear description of the issue you're experiencing, and a set of well-lit, high-quality photographs that illustrate the concern.
- Assessment Timeframe: Once we receive your complete submission, our team will thoroughly review the materials provided. We aim to respond within 3 to 5 business days, though this may vary slightly depending on volume and the complexity of the issue.
- Processing Timeline: If your claim is approved, we will proceed with repair or replacement at our discretion. This process typically takes 5 business days after approval, not including shipping timeframes, which may vary by location and carrier.
- Return Shipping Policy: Customers are responsible for shipping the mattress back to our facility. However, once the repair or replacement is complete, we will cover the cost of return shipping back to the original delivery address.
Best Practices for Preserving Mattress Integrity
- Proper Support: To maintain the intended performance and longevity of your mattress, it must be used with a stable, level support system. Unsupported or uneven foundations may cause premature wear and invalidate your warranty coverage.
- Rotation: We recommend rotating your mattress 180 degrees every 3 to 6 months. While our models are one-sided and do not require flipping, routine rotation encourages more even wear over time.
- Use a Protector: Protect your mattress from spills, stains, and debris by using a high-quality, breathable mattress protector. A proper protector will not restrict airflow and can help extend the life of your mattress.
- Moisture Control: Avoid exposing the mattress to moisture, including spills and high humidity environments. Moisture can break down internal materials and adhesives, potentially voiding your warranty.
- Safe Handling: Always lift your mattress when moving it. Dragging or folding may damage the internal structure or outer fabric, and could void your warranty if improper handling is evident.
- Spot Cleaning Only: In the event of a spill or stain, spot clean only using a small amount of mild soap with lukewarm water. Avoid soaking the mattress or using harsh chemicals, as this can cause damage not covered under warranty.
General Terms & Eligibility
- Coverage Scope: Unless otherwise specified in writing at the time of sale, all Wilderness RV Mattress models are protected under this 10-Year Limited Warranty. Some custom-designed mattresses may be subject to modified terms depending on the materials and specifications involved.
- Warranty Start Date: Your warranty begins on the original date of purchase as recorded in our system or documented via proof of sale. We may request a copy of your order confirmation to validate the claim.
- Non-Transferable: This warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser and is not transferable. Transfers of ownership — including gifts, resale, or donations — are not eligible for continued coverage under this policy.
- Geographic Coverage: This warranty is applicable only to products purchased and used within the United States or Canada. Mattresses located or relocated outside these regions are not eligible for coverage.
